What is included in Nursing Assistant Training?

There are two phases to your training:  a classroom phase and a hands-on phase.  The classroom part is taught at our school in Sugar Land, Texas.  The hands-on training is located at a local health care facility.  Both parts are required to qualify to take the state licensing exam.  Our instructors are Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nurses who are also trained instructors.  Under their supervision, you will learn all about your position as a CNA.  You will learn what to do, when to do it, how to do it and also learn why.  When the classroom phase is over, an RN or LPN will supervise you as you apply what you have learned in an actual health care setting.  This part of your training is invaluable as you will be able to practice and perfect the techniques you have learned in class.

Do you help us prepare for the state certification exam?

Yes, our training is planned around learning and implementing the skills needed to be a good certified nursing assistant and obtaining the knowledge required to pass the state exams.  The state exam has both  written and practical demonstrations and our training will prepare you properly for both.

What are my CNA job prospects when I graduate?

Fortunately for the certified nursing profession, the demand for CNAs in Texas is quite high.  We have a 100% placement rate for our graduates.  Our graduates have found work in nursing homes, memory care facilities, hospitals, hospices, doctor’s offices and clinics.
