CTG Forensics - Innovation for the Built Environment

Few managers would dispute that loss prevention has been proven to be a sound business strategy. For construction projects, effective loss prevention depends on a number of factors, including close familiarity with a wide range of building systems. Our inspectors are conversant in standard and state of the art practices in mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems as well as HVAC and energy systems. They can review plans and determine if unsafe conditions could result from construction as designed. For example, are fireplace flues placed too close to combustible materials? Are conduits properly anchored and located? Are fire safety systems likely to withstand corrosive conditions for the life of the building? Such conditions could remain hidden for years and then a leak, blockage, electrical short or other fault could cause devastating losses by fire.

Through this process, our clients learn how projects should be designed and built to minimize the peril of fires related to electrical or mechanical system failure, water damage, mold contamination and a host of other hazardous or damaging situations. Such services can minimize unnecessary exposure to the legal and financial risk resulting from unsafe or unsound design or construction. Risk management programs can pay for themselves many times over during the life of the project.
