Forensic Experience

As a forensic consultant, Mr. Klipp draws on over 60 years experience as owner and principal of consulting engineering firms and extensive experience in the design of mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems for hotels, condominiums, high rise structures, offices, hospitals, regional shopping centers, and industrial facilities.

Mr. Klipp has been a designated expert team member on over 300 cases in the areas of construction litigation and casualty insurance claims. Mechanical systems issues have included plumbing fixtures, sanitary and water piping, hot water heaters, fire protection systems, heating, ventilating furnaces and air conditioning systems. Electrical system issues include power distribution and generation, and lighting. Construction claims have included installations at convention centers, airports, government buildings, detention centers, school buildings, food production plants and warehouses.

Mr. Klipp has investigated construction defects, contract disputes, delay claims, and casualty claims including fires, scalding, explosions, flooding and electrocutions. He has also investigated piping corrosion defects at hospitals, sports arenas, beverage production plants, residential complexes, school campuses and others.

Mold cases investigated by Mr. Klipp have included residential, university buildings, and high-rise hotels and offices. Air handler coils, supply plenums, ducts and others are among the key equipment inspected.

Design Experience

Mr. Klipp specializes in the design of electrical, fire alarm, plumbing, fire protection, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems using energy conserving designs for the building industry. He is experienced in the design and construction of building utility systems, environmental and process systems, as well as various industrial facilities. He has served as the mechanical and electrical engineer for a wide variety of facilities in and outside California.
