CTG Energetics - Integrated Green Building Consulting

CTG grew from a foundation of energy analysis and design, and our energy services are integrated into all of our diverse practice areas. The role of the energy industry in our efforts as a society to respond to global climate change makes it imperative that our new and existing building stocks achieve new levels of energy performance. We employ a set of simulation tools and systems analyses to enable effective decision-making based on energy, economic, and environmental metrics and to help project teams meet this global challenge.

For new buildings, CTG uses energy simulations to evaluate the massing and orientation of buildings in the conceptual phase and specific envelope and systems strategies in the detailed design phases. We have developed custom models to analyze the energy performance of specific systems such as green roofs, photovoltaics, and solar hot water.

Our daylight modeling services help project teams visualize the impacts of building orientation and form, fenestration placement and design, and interior design on natural lighting, glare, and overall illumination. For existing buildings, CTG uses energy simulation in audits and retro-commissioning activities to document energy end-uses for the building, and to evaluate the interactive effects of suggested retrofits and operational improvements on building energy performance.
