SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Position Mission
Build upon our internationally recognized high performance building and energy consulting practices as part of our team that delivers new construction and retro-commissioning, energy audits, and energy efficiency retrofit consulting. Assist in offering expanded services to our current clients, developing new clients, and mentoring junior staff.
This position can be based in Irvine, CA, Oakland, CA, or Denver, CO with a preference for Denver.
Specific Duties
- Serve as project manager and/or technical lead for commissioning, retro-commissioning, audit, and retrofit projects
- Participate in broad range of commissioning, LEED for Existing Buildings, and high performance building consulting projects
- Provide peer review assistance for other team members and junior staff on energy-related projects
- Participate in business development efforts to expand commissioning and energy efficiency consulting services
- Mentor junior staff on HVAC systems, building operations, maintenance, and energy efficiency principles
Capabilities/Attributes Required
- Strong technical background in commercial/institutional building systems and operations
- Substantial experience developing and delivering building energy efficiency projects
- 10+ years experience in mechanical/electrical engineering of building systems, commissioning, design and/or operations & maintenance
- Demonstrated understanding of building HVAC control systems
- Demonstrated skills in delivering excellent customer/client service and project management
- Excellent oral and written communications/presentation skills in English
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field
Desirable, Not Required
- Licensed P.E. in Mechanical Engineering
- Master's Degree in related field
- LEED AP credential
- Publications related to energy efficiency, or willingness to author papers and articles
